Scholarship Information

Girls' High School was established in 1852 as the oldest public high school for girls in the country.  In 1974, the City of Boston closed the school, but the Girls' High School Association is still very active, and alumnae from classes from the 1930's to 1973 meet regularly every fall at the annual Girls' High School Reunion Luncheon.

Each year the Girls' High School Board votes to allocate funds from their financial holdings to provide scholarships to high school senior girls from the Boston Public School system who have been accepted and will be attending a full four-year academic program the following fall.  Funds available for scholarships vary from year to year and are based upon the earnings from the Girls' High School Association financial holdings.
