Reunions
The 171st reunion will be held on October 7th, 2023 at the VENEZIA, 20 Ericsson Street, Boston from noon to 4pm.
Each fall, the graduates of Girls' High School meet to renew acquaintances with former classmates and reminisce about their days at Girls' High. This luncheon has been taking place for more than 160 years and continues to be an important event in the lives of those who attended the school. The reunion begins with a welcome greeting from the President to all those in attendance who traveled from afar to be in attendance. Mothers and daughter and sister and sister graduates are also recognized as well as the oldest members who attended Girls' High as early as the 1930's. Next comes the singing of the School Ode and Pledge of Allegiance, followed by an invocation. Following the luncheon, the Minutes from the prior year's Luncheon business meeting are read, along with the Treasurer's report and the Nominating Committee and election of officers. A special greeting is provided by a representative of the class celebrating their 50th reunion.
A highlight of each year's reunion is the awarding of the winners of the Annual Girls' High School Association Scholarships. These scholarships are granted each year to deserving female high school seniors who will be attending a full-time four year curriculum the following September.
Class pictures of the 50th, 60th, 70th, 75th year re-union classes are taken.
Each year, the Board selects a theme for the reunion and provides handouts and center pieces to highlight that theme.
